After completing my International Diploma in Health and Skin Care at the renowned Isa Carstens in 2007, obtaining SAAHSP, ITEC, and CIDESCO accreditation, I have spent numerous years working on international cruise liners and luxury yachts as a beauty therapist and assistant manager, putting my knowledge and passion for people and business into practice as well as traveling the world and learning about different countries, people, backgrounds, traditions and all it had to offer. Dubai was the next destination where I worked as a therapist in one of its most exquisite and luxurious resorts, which led to the full-time management of a successful wellness clinic.
Back in South Africa, I spent the greater of the following 6 years as a brand ambassador, regional manager, and sales executive representing a wide variety of leading professional beauty and medical aesthetic brands and devices, working closely with and offering sales, training, and support to therapists, aesthetic doctors, dermatologists and plastic surgeons in salons, clinics, and medical practices. Today, and by God’s grace alone, I am so grateful that all my travels, knowledge, and years of experience working with such a vast variety of the best of the best, has come together and uniquely enabled me to hand-pick only the best and launch here, in beautiful Robertson, to passionately pursue healthy skin, wellness, medical aesthetics and all-round well being at MAE.

DR. SMIT
Aesthetic GP, MAE
Dr Muller Smit is a General Practitioner. He qualified from the University of the Free State in 2008 and completed his Internship at Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex. In 2011 he did his community service at Botshabelo Hospital outside Bloemfontein. In 2012 he opened his own Dispensing Practice in Bloemfontein and Edenburg. During this time he did after hour’s casualty sessions at Mediclinic Bloemfontein.
He qualified as an advanced cardiovascular life support provider in 2011 and 2013 and obtained a dispensing license in 2011. He did his Beginners and Intermediary course in Botulinum toxin and Dermal fillers training in 2011 with Dr Zak Schabort from The Cosmetic and Dental Emporium at V&A Waterfront.
As Aesthetic Practitioner Dr Smit offers various cosmetic treatments, focusing on Botulinum Toxin, Dermal Fillers and Threading. Dr Smit is an accredited Silhouette Soft®Aesthetic Practitioner.
Dr Smit is Passionate about promoting healthy lifestyle habits and has been a guest speaker on radio stations like SAFM, Cape Talk and 702. Dr Smit is also an Assistant to General Surgeon Dr Ignatius Botha since 2015.
Dr Smit recently became dad of a bundle of joy. He enjoys spending time in the operating theatre, and has special interests in Aesthetic Medicine and Mental Health. In his off time he enjoys spending time in nature, fishing and staying active.
